HOW TO DOWNLOAD

!! BEWARE OF ADS !!

When clicking a DOWNLOAD link, some of our affiliates will try to get you to download software that you do not need. Specifically AdFly and LinkShrink. You might see pop-ups that say "Your download is ready" or "Software update needed" and so on. When you click on something to download, if you see AdFly or LinkShrink at the top of the page, wait 5 seconds for the SKIP AD button to appear in the top right. You might also get some pop-ups. You can just skip and close those windows. You can easily identify the download window by looking at the tabs at the top of your browser. The tab for the correct window will have the name of the item you are trying to download. This is more prevalent on the Audio Sample pages than on the plug-ins pages.

Creating a Google account will make all of this much simpler. All of the items are hosted on my personal Google drive with the Share option activated. If you have a Google count it will be easier for downloading and you can either save it to your Google Drive or directly to your hard drive. There are instructions below for Google Drive downloads.

In order to download files from Dropbox (DAW Host files), you will need to first download and install Dropbox.  Once you have installed dropbox, you will need to download and install Winrar in order to unzip the plug-in or DAW program file. Click the links for Dropbox and Winrar now, install them and get it out of the way. Some files are stored on my Google Drives as well.

Dropbox instructions:

Once you have installed Dropbox, you are ready to start downloading the plug-ins or program that you desire that require Dropbox. Click on the download link for the file that you want and when the link opens in a new window, you will see a message that says ".zip files can’t be previewed", or  ".exe files can not be previewed". Any file other than small .doc files and picture files can not be previewed. That doesn't matter because you just want to download the file anyway, so go to the top right-hand corner and click the box with the three dots in it. In that drop-down menu, you will see the download option. Just click that and your file will download.

Note: Only the VST Host programs that I have available are stored in Dropbox. All of the VST files are on my Google Drives.

For Google Drive downloads:

Download and install Google Chrome and Google Drive for easier access (but not necessary). When you click a file for downloading, it will open your Google Drive sharing and the file will be visible. Click on the icon with the 3 verticle dots at the top right of the preview and select download at the bottom of the drop-down menu. You can still download files without having Google Drive. If you need permission to access, an automatic e-mail will be sent to me and I will get to it within a reasonable amount of time. By that, I mean within an hour.

For .Zip files and Winrar: (Winrar can be used as trial version for unzipping)

Make a new folder and name it [program's name]. Drag the zip file for the program, synth, or plug-in into that folder. Right click on the zip file and select Extract Here, or Extract to - [the path that is pre-determined]. Winrar will automatically create a folder right above the zip file and unzip the program contents to it. Run the set-up .exe or installer.

Some plug-ins do not have an installer, in which case you will see the .dll file. That is the VST plug-in file that the DAW will be using to run the plug-in. For 32 bit apps and plug-ins, there will be a folder in Program Files(x86)\VST. This is the directory for 32 bit .dll (Plug-in) files, which is where the installers place the files automatically. For 64 bit plug-ins, it is the Program Files\VST  folder. Drag and drop the .dll and any folders or presets that come with it into the appropriate directory (folder).

Some DAW host programs need to be told where to search for VST plug-ins while they are booting up. In the program's options menu, preferences, or plug-in manager, is where you would set the program to scan the correct folders for VST plug-ins.

If you are new at installing VST plug-ins and need some help, there is usually a READ ME file with all of these. If there is no READ ME file and you need help, feel free to email me, VEGA3825 , and I will help you as best as I can.

All of these files are 100% safe and pre-scanned for viruses. Any messages that your system might alert you to are due to some of these having cookies tracking. THERE WILL NOT BE RANDOM POP-UPS or MALWARE !! If you see an AdFly page, you can click "SKIP AD" in the top right hand of the page after 5 seconds. The link will then open in a new tab and you can just close the AdFly tab once you are there. It is the only Ad that comes up. It does not come up when downloading VSTs. Only when you link to a website for DAW host programs. All of these files have come from trusted sites and/or directly from the developers.
